The forecast through April 2021 indicates persistent water deficits in much of Mexico, downgrading in the east, but intensifying in north-central and central Pacific states. Surpluses will downgrade in southern Mexico but remain intense in Central America.

Regions forecast to have significant water deficits for the 12-month period of November 2020 through October 2021 include: Brazil, Estonia, Latvia, Egypt, and western Kazakhstan. Areas with a forecast of significant water surplus include: Northeast China, Vietnam, southern India, and Pakistan. This Watch List is based on ISciences Water Security Indicator Model v2 (WSIMv2) run on 4 February 2021.
