The forecast through February 2022 indicates that water surpluses will increase in eastern Australia, becoming widespread from Rockhampton, Queensland through the eastern Murray-Darling Basin. Anomalies will be extreme to exceptional south of Rockhampton.

The forecast through January 2022 indicates water surpluses in Australia’s northern extremes, the Avon River Watershed, the Macintyre River region, from Canberra to the coast, and north of Auckland, New Zealand. Deficits will persist on New Zealand’s South Island.

The forecast through December indicates water surpluses in the Macintyre River region of New South Wales and the Avon River catchment in Western Australia. Deficits are forecast from Perth past Busselton, and in Tasmania and New Caledonia.

The forecast through November indicates water surpluses in the Macintyre River region of New South Wales, the Atherton Tablelands in Queensland, and the Avon River catchment in Western Australia. Deficits are forecast south of Perth, near Melbourne, and in New Caledonia.

The forecast through October indicates water surpluses in the Macintyre River region of northeastern New South Wales and the Avon River catchment southeast of Perth. Deficits will shrink in New Zealand and intensify in western Tasmania.
