Exceptional surpluses in India will mostly dissipate, transitioning to moderate to severe surpluses. Exceptional deficits will remain in Afghanistan and Pakistan.

Southern Africa: Severe-to-Exceptional Water Deficits to Spread and Intensify through January 2016

Severe to exceptional water deficits in southern and central Angola are forecast to continue through January 2016. The deficits spread to Namibia in June, decreasing in intensity in Northern Namibia in October but remaining exceptional in Southern Namibia through January 2016.

Southeast Asia and the Pacific: Severe to Exceptional Water Deficits through January 2016

Moderate to severe water deficits are forecast to continue in much of Southeast Asia and the Pacific through January 2016, with portions of central Vietnam and Southern Thailand being hit the hardest.

Temperature and Precipitation Outlook for June 2015

Most of the world's land surface is forecast to have above normal temperatures in June 2015.  Extreme warm anomalies are forecast for the west coasts of Central and South America and portions of the Sahel and Egypt.  Cool anomalies are forecast for Texas, central Mexico. Cool extremes are forecast for central Africa. 

Wet anomalies are forecast for Southwest United States, Northwest Mexico, Western and Southern Brazil, Turkey, and portions of Western Australia.  Dry anomalies are forecast for Northern South America, Northern India, Southeast Asia, and the Philippines.

Coastal West Africa: Exceptional Water Deficits through Oct 2015

40-year and greater water deficits are forecast for Coastal West Africa starting in July 2015 and continuing through October 2015, with some areas remaining in exceptional deficit status through the end of the year. These deficits will affect the coastal regions of Liberia, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Togo, Benin, Nigeria, and Cameroon. Although monthly deficits decline after October 2015, no recovery is expected, on an annual basis, until sometime after January 2016.

Central America and Northern South America: Exceptional Water Deficits July 2015 through January 2016

Exceptional water deficits are forecast for Central America starting in July and continuing through January 2016. Exceptional deficits are also forecast to hit Colombia, Ecuador, and Northern Peru in late summer. The area of extreme to exceptional deficits in Venezuela expands into Guyana, Suriname, and French Guiana beginning in June, with the area of greatest deficits moving southward beginning in October. A sizable portion of Northern Brazil is forecast to experience exceptional deficits beginning in December 2015.
